Oldie But Goodie!!

This is Saraia's version of Double Dutch Bus by Raven. For whatever reason, she can't get this song out her head and decided to put on a stage show (upside down empty laundry basket) for her audience (Langston)!

Daddy's Birthday

Daddy was traveling on his birthday, so we had to postpone our family celebration. How times have changed… he used to never even work on his birthday and now he is traveling on business. Either way, the family was so happy to see him. Mommy made a chocolate cake and everybody sang Happy Birthday!!

First Swing Ride

It didn't take long for Langston to realize how much fun a swing is. He couldn't stop laughing!

America's Next Top Model

Saraia just got her first cover. This is the monthly info magazine from her new school.

They asked for kids to be on the cover and Saraia was immediately chosen for her “personality and great smile”! They said the photographer was very impressed and said "she could be a star one day."

We need to get these kids out to Hollywood and score an early retirement!!!Mommy and Daddy are so proud of our little girl. Next stop America’s Next Top Model and a spread in Elle Magazine!!!

Mariah turns One!!!

We all had a great time at Kara’s house for Mariah’s first birthday. Kara was Daddy’s first boss, when we came to Jackson. The birthday girl was under the weather, but she was a still a great hostess and made an appearance. We all had a great time, catching up each other and talking about Kara’s new move to Kansas City, KS. Yes, we will all miss the Jackson’s in Jackson.

I think Saraia will especially miss Miles. Look at them here… just as cute as they wanna be!!

Long Weekend

It was a busy weekend for us as we had several events to attend, plus things to get done around the house. It all started Friday night at the Liberty HS Homecoming game. Liberty really looked good and came away with a big victory over Munford HS. Saraia and Langston had a good time again. Saraia mostly stayed with her ‘Nana’ and Langston wanted to hang with Mommy this time!

The next day we woke up early and got ready to go to Family Day. This is an annual event that P&G has for its employees and this year they rented out the entire Jackson Family Fun Center (bowling, skating, mini golf, batting cage, laser tag, go-karts, and video games). Needless to say we did pretty much everything we could do and stayed there almost all day. Everybody was pretty much wiped out, so we all took a quick nap.

After lunch we got ready to go out again, to Movies in the Park. This is something relatively new for Jackson and I hope they continue to do more of things like this. It is exactly what it says. Since the nights are so nice, ~70 degrees, the Park Commission is showing movies after dusk. Just grab a blanket or chairs and enjoy a good movie and great weather. Picnics are welcome, but they also have hot fresh pizza for sale, from a local restaurant. Langston loves the outside and was trying to get into everything. He stayed up the entire time. This was an easy night for bedtime… the kids couldn’t wait to get to sleep… neither could Mommy or Daddy!

Bear over Langston

Daddy and Saraia were being there silly selves one day in the car. Everyone was laughing and playing, when Daddy asked Saraia 'who do you love more Langston or Bear?' How or why Daddy came up with that, no one knows.

Asking a little 4-year old to choose between her life-long buddy and her newly acquired brother! But in classic Saraia form, she answered back boldly and to our amazement said ‘BEAR!’ Neither of us could believe it. When we asked ‘why’, she gave an explanation that made it all clear. ‘Bear is MY baby!’ In her eyes Bear is her responsibility, just like Langston is ours. It was so sweet!

Smile Factory

Langston has some new pearly whites, but he must be camera shy… I have been trying to get a full smile out him, but can’t get a good shot on film yet. I will keep trying, but as I was looking through my mistakes, these smiles just cracked me up!

JCS Fall Festival

Mommy and Daddy took the kids the Fall Festival being held at Saraia's school. They packed as much fun as you could into a school parking lot. They had Jumpers, Face Painting, Games and Prizes, Concessions (pretty good hot dogs BTW), and Magic Show. Even though it is the ‘Fall’ Festival, in Tennessee it is still sunny and +75 degrees outside.

Saraia of course linked up with her friends and had a blast!! Mommy was just trying to keep up and Langston and Daddy were plain old tired. Daddy took Langston home, while Mommy and Saraia stayed for the Magic Show. I guess they really were tired… this is how we found them!!!

Go BIG BLUE!!! 4-1????

The Tennessee State University Tigers suffered their first lost of the season to Florida A&M in the 20th Annual Atlanta Classic, 21 – 28. I don't know why I even go to this game anymore. I can't believe we lost again... and in the same way. It is like I have been watching a re-run of the same game every year. We are down late in the forth and miraculously we cut the lead down to one final score to win it... we are driving down the field... and like every year, we turn the ball over!!! That's okay Tigers... I still got love for you. Now let's get that OVC title and get into the playoffs!!! Go BIG BLUE!!!

Go BIG BLUE!!! 4-0!!!

Big Blue is back. This has got to be the year TSU breaks the Georgia Dome curse. We haven't won this game since 2001, but this year the Tigers cannot be denied. This is me going on record predicting the end of the curse in 2008. Score will be too much to too little, Tigers!!! I will be in ATL to cheer on the Tigers. Sky's the limit this year!

Are You Ready For Some Football??

The family went to the Liberty HS football game this Friday. LHS has finally started playing some good football and the weather was absolutely perfect. We had a great time. I don't think Langston has caught on yet, as he looked everywhere but at the field.

He tends to check out his surroundings and the people around him, so with the nice size crowd at the game, his head was on a swivel the whole night. He stayed up like a big boy, until the 3rd quarter. Daddy was sleepy too as the LHS was putting JCM to bed in a blow-out.

Go BIG BLUE!!! 3-0!!!

Memphis, Tenn. - The Tennessee State University Tigers (3-0) posted their sixth straight win over the Jackson State University (JSU) Tigers (1-2) in the 19th Annual Southern Heritage Classic in Memphis, Tenn., 41 – 18. TSU remains undefeated at 3 – 0 and posts their best start since 2004.

For his efforts, Heffner garnered another classic game MVP, taking home the Southern Heritage Classic MVP Award for third straight season. Heffner made the night memorable, proposing marriage to his girlfriend, Angel Parker, on the 50-yard line following his MVP trophy presentation, she accepted.

More School Pictures

Saraia is doing really well in school, although she still needs to work on her mouth. Her academics are great, but she is a social butterfly and can't seem to keep her mouth under control.

Saraia's 4th B-Day

Saraia had a great time at her birthday party. She had her friends there, she ate pizza, she played games, she had a princess cake, and she got way too many toys!!! What more could a 4-year old ask for. Mommy and Daddy decided to have the party at Chuck E Cheese and give the house a break. Although we preferred the family-feeling of having it at the house, CEC provided us a great event without the clean-up and prep. The manager really helped Mommy get a great table and a have a successful party.

It was so great to have the grandparents and grand-uncles/aunts come up to the party. It is always us when we get to see family.

After all the fuss, the two best friends got together and had a whale of a slumber party. They played with the birthday toys all night.

Dancing with the Stars

Saraia is finally putting all her energy to good use. She is now at the rigth age to be enrolled in dance class. Her regular lessons will start next week. The dance studio has been around Jackson many years.

She is so excitied, as expected. Mommy and Daddy also looked at a cheerleading class, but we couldn't do both. We all agreed that dance was better than cheer.

As soon as she gets all her ballet clothes we will post more pics.

Movie Review - Space Chimps

Space Chimps - ONE AND A HALF THUMBS UP!!! from Saraia and Daddy. Space Chimps was very funny and Saraia couldn't help but to burst into laughter. It was an very enjoyable afternoon activity for an otherwise ordinary weekend day.
