Today was Langston's first day at West Jackson CDC. Mommy has been nervous for weeks, but Langston was cool and calm. Upon arrival, he looked around and gave everyone a great big smile. He went to his teacher Mrs. LuAnn with no problem. She placed him in a rocker, we discussed his schedule and toured his bed and cubby. It took Mommy forever to leave the room. Mommy finally left after 15 minutes and returned after 3 hours to find....
Mrs. Luann trying to feed Langston. He was crying for dear mercy. He looked at Mommy to save him. The teachers said he had a good day, until it was time to eat. He did not like it when the other babies cried and the other babies crawled to greet him when he was in the activity center. Apparently we are already having girl trouble. See the girl in the picture, well, she seems to be smitten by Langston's laid back charm.
In all he had a good first day, which will be further determined tomorrow. Hopefully he will stay with Mrs. LuAnn, Mrs. Gloria, and Mrs. Kim.

4th of July
We decided to celebrate the 4th of July in ATL and see Grandma, Uncle T and Aunt Cookie. We had a lovely time, as always. Although we had been to ATL many times, this trip was one to remember, because so much was different. We left Thursday afternoon and instead of driving all night, we were able to detour and visit TT at her new townhome in M’Boro. It was great to see TT, Theo, Melanie, and the rest of ‘The Fam’. We relaxed on the plush new couch, talked about any and everything, and watched a bit of TV. We all switched venues to Melanie’s (Thanks Mel), as TT was still waiting on furniture.
Waking up early and heading out to ATL is perfect for us. Shortens the drive, we felt refreshed, and we could get in town at a decent hour. The kids were so good, too. Saraia was more herself and kept us entertained with her usual silliness and singing.
This was an excellent food trip, which left most of us thinking about needing to loose a few pounds: (1) Pappadeaux Seafood, (2) Grandma’s Margarita’s, (3) Uncle T’s ribs (he got it back), (4) Gladys Knight’s Chicken and Waffles.
Even though its 4th of July, Saraia is still not into fireworks yet, so we passed. Instead, we got in the pool that afternoon, watched Alvin and the Chipmunks about 10 times, and helped Grandma get all the food together for dinner. The next day we got out had a FULL day enjoying the remainder of the activities at the Georgia Mall. From Carousel to Jumpers to Water Fountains, we did it all.
We had a great, great time… Nena was even able to spend a few days with us. We talked about how much fun we had all the way back to TN. Hope to see everyone soon, and thanks for making our 4th special.
